Common questions
Do I need an account?
Yes. Planeworthy needs a free account to look up Airworthiness Directives and to send new-AD alerts. Setup asks for an email address, a password and an invitation code. Your maintenance records do not depend on the account: they live in your own iCloud account, and they keep working if you sign out.
Where are my records stored?
In the private iCloud database of the Apple ID signed in on your device. Planeworthy cannot read them, and they sync between your iPhone and iPad through iCloud. If iCloud is turned off, the records stay on the device only.
Why did the app ask about an aircraft found in iCloud?
After a reinstall or on a new device, Planeworthy waits for iCloud to bring your records back before offering setup. If an aircraft comes back, you can use it, delete a duplicate, or start over.
How do AD alerts work?
Each night Planeworthy's server checks the FAA for new and revised Airworthiness Directives. When one names your airframe model, engine model or a piece of equipment you listed, your device gets a notification and the AD appears in the ADs tab for you to review. The app suggests where your serial number may fall inside an AD's range, but your mechanic decides whether an AD applies.
Is Planeworthy a substitute for the logbooks?
No. It is a tracker and a reminder. The aircraft and engine logbooks remain the maintenance record of authority, and every entry should be checked against them.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings in the app, then Account, then Delete Account. That removes your email address, your watched models and your device's push registration from Planeworthy's server at once. Your maintenance records on the device and in iCloud are not touched; delete the app and its iCloud data from iOS Settings (your name, then iCloud, then Manage Storage) if you want those gone too.
Reminders are not arriving
Check that notifications are allowed for Planeworthy in iOS Settings, and that the reminder lead time in the app's Settings is what you expect. Reminders are scheduled on the device, so they fire even with no connection.
